Going to school because of old gold

Jewelry June 17th, 2010

When my and my brother thought we wouldn’t be able to go to school because of lack of funds, my mom and dad tried every way they can just to earn enough money to get us enrolled. I’m on my last year of high school, and my brother will be starting. They said it’ll be better if one of us stops schooling. Of course, that’s enough to break a kid’s heart. My brother has been getting good honors since elementary and I —I’m on my last year so it’ll be a bad timing to stop. My mom heard about online stores that buys used jewelry. My grandma, who used to be an antique specialist, has been collecting antique jewelry. She gave it to my mom before she passed away. And now, thinking of it as a good opportunity, mom decided to sell gold to these stores to add more funds to our schooling.

When we received the envelope from the buying company, we knew that it was a hard decision to sell old gold, which has a sentimental value to my mom. But without further thinking, my mom dropped them to the envelope. She said that now is more important than the past. So, she had the envelope mailed back to the buyer. In a few days time, we received money enough to fund our enrollment! I and my brother were going to school because of old gold!
