Unknown to many, one of the things that caused electricity to skyrocket is the automatic hand dryers. So, just imagine how much electricity does a supermall pay to make all the hand dryers operational? That is just one thing that gives me headache ever since the management has asked each department to give proposals to lower down the operation expenses.
I asked suggestions from my members too. I told them to check everything from lightings to plumbing fixtures. We found out that one reason why the electric bill rose up high was the hand dryer. It took 30 – 45 seconds to dry a hand. We did a research and found a hand dryer that can dry a hand in 10-15 seconds, half the energy was consumed during the entire procedure. With the hand dryer that we proposed, the administration can save at least 70% off the energy it produced and 90% of the paper towels used.
We proposed this to the administration with the complete study and comparison if we were to change our existing hand dryers. The administration after careful study and scrutiny agreed and approved the proposal.
