Giving Used Cisco the Benefit of the Doubt
I swear I could have killed one of my employees when he told me that two of our Cisco Catalyst Switches are not working properly. I spent a fortune just to have them because I know that it is a good brand. However, these electronic devices, although branded with a good and trusted name, need to have regular maintenance. That is the exact reason why I hired somebody specifically tasked to maintain all electronic devices in the office, and make sure that nothing will accelerate their wearing and tearing.
Sensing the anger I have for him the moment he disclosed the news to me, and knowing the consequences he is about to suffer, he immediately spoke as he said that he has a suggestion in order to lessen the expenses our company might incur in buying new switches. He said the he knows of an online shop that sells Used Cisco products, including Catalyst Switches. I twitched my lips in dismay, but when he told me that these refurbished switches were worked on by Cisco experts, and their products have already gained trust worldwide, I got interested. I also learned that it is 60% cheaper than brand new ones.
Well, I still am very disappointed, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. We will purchase used ones in replacement of those that are not working properly.
